Nutty Green Bean Casserole
3 tablespoons Crisco® Pure Olive Oil
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons Pillsbury BEST™ All Purpose Flour
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 cup Jif® Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter
1 (14.5 oz.) can beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 (9 oz.) boxes frozen green beans, thawed
1 cup French fried onions
- HEAT oven to 350°F. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and garlic. Cook 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender. Stir in peanut butter, cooking until melted. Whisk in flour, thyme, salt and pepper, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to bubble.
- ADD broth and worcestershire sauce, stirring until smooth. Bring to boil, then remove from heat. Combine with green beans. Place in 8-inch square baking dish.
- BAKE 25 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle fried onions evenly over top. Bake additional 5 minutes.
